Government Relations Associate

Branden started as a Government Relations Associate at Capitol Associates in January of 2022 after working as an aide at the Massachusetts House of Representatives for Representative Steven Howitt (R-MA).

During his tenure in the Massachusetts Legislature, Branden undertook a diverse array of legislative initiatives and fostered alliances among stakeholders from across the political spectrum to champion Representative Howitt’s key priorities. His unwavering commitment was especially evident as he assisted constituents in navigating state government during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, he collaborated closely with federal and state authorities to secure essential COVID-19 relief funding for crucial projects within the district.

Before his service in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, Branden gained valuable experience through several internships, including a pivotal role within Governor Baker’s Administration. There, he played a key part in evaluating applications for constitutional and statutory appointments and enthusiastically contributed to Governor Baker’s record-breaking re-election campaign in 2018.

Within CAI, Branden is a steadfast advocate and consultant for the organization’s clients, offering guidance on federal and state legislative and regulatory matters. He spearheads CAI’s ever-expanding portfolio of state policy initiatives, offering clients comprehensive issue tracking and in-depth analysis of state legislation and regulations. His work extends to advising clients on effective advocacy strategies and relationship-building with state policymakers. Branden is also at the helm of Capitol Associates’ weekly newsletter, “Capitol Insights,” which comprises a thoughtfully curated selection of pertinent news clips and a featured article penned by Capitol Associates’ staff.

Branden graduated from Boston University in 2020 with a B.A. in International Relations with a Foreign Policy and National Security concentration. Hailing from Swansea, Massachusetts, he now calls Washington, DC, his home. In his free time, Branden is an avid hockey player, a passionate traveler, an outdoor enthusiast, and an adventurous cook, always eager to try new and creative recipes. He is also an unwavering and enthusiastic supporter of the Bruins, Red Sox, and Patriots.
